Sela Ward
Born in Meridian, Mississippi in 1956, Sela Ward graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in fine art and advertising. She moved to New York City and began working as a storyboard artist, but when she was recruited to be a model it was too tempting to turn down.
After modeling for print and TV campaigns, Ward moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Her first role came in the Blake Edwards comedy "The Man Who Loved Women" (1983) staring Burt Reynolds and Julie Andrews. The same year, she landed her first series regular role on "Emerald Point N.A.S." (CBS, 1983-84), chronicling life on a military base.
When that show was cancelled after one season, Ward continued to work, playing supporting roles in films like "Nothing in Common" (1986) starring Tom Hanks and Jackie Gleason and TV series such as "L.A. Law" (NBC, 1986-1994). In 1991, she began her starring role on the on the series "Sisters" (NBC, 1991-96), for which she earned her first Emmy as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1994.

Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Sela Ward continues to score strong, powerful roles in both film and television. She was last seen on the big screen as the president of the United States in "Independence Day Resurgence." The project reunited Ward with director Roland Emmerich, with whom she first worked on "The Day After Tomorrow." Additional feature film credits include "Gone Girl," "The Guardian" and "The Fugitive," among others.
Ward is a two-time Emmy Award winner for her work on the television series "Sisters" and "Once and Again," for which she earned a Golden Globe Award as well. Sela Ann Ward (born July 11, 1956)[1][2] is an American actress. Her breakthrough TV role was as Teddy Reed in the NBC drama series Sisters (1991–1996), for which she received her first Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1994. She received her second Primetime Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama for the leading role of Lily Manning in the ABC drama series Once and Again (1999–2002). Ward later had the recurring role of Stacy Warner in the Fox medical drama House, also starred as Jo Danville in the CBS police procedural CSI: NY (2010–2013)[3] and starred as Dana Mosier in the CBS police procedural series FBI (2018–2019).[4]
She also played supporting roles in films, including The Man Who Loved Women (1983), Rustlers' Rhapsody (1985), Nothing in Common (1986), Hello Again (1987), The Fugitive (1993), My Fellow Americans (1996), The Badge (2002), The Day After Tomorrow (2004), The Guardian (2006)
