To present a well-rounded viewpoint, it’s crucial for me to feature a female artist who actively advocates for the well-being of both children and adults. I am describing someone who fights tirelessly against child exploitation and human trafficking. It is necessary to mention that there are painful sexual encounters. The focus of this article is not on fantasy, but on deep contemplation of the harsh realities surrounding sexual assault. It describes the experience of one artist who overcame incredible odds and survived.
Suzzan Blac was born in Birmingham, UK in 1960. Her oil paintings and writing reflect her personal experiences with physical, mental, and sexual abuse. Blac’s artistic purpose is to shake society out of apathy and educate those who perpetrate secondary victimization, which can be equally distressing as the abuse. Suzzan’s work serves as a source of inspiration in group therapy for victims of abuse. Her work revolves around creating educational programs that encourage greater understanding.

Suzzan Blac is an English, surreal artist who paints images of physical, mental and sexual abuse in a most visceral and direct way. She is an intransigent protagonist who fights on behalf of victims and survivors of abuse to aid their personal recovery, to jolt the apathy of society and enlighten those who impose secondary victimization, which can be as painful as the abuse itself. Suzzan's work is used in teaching programs to further understanding and insight into the whole spectrum of abuse and as an inspiring facet in helping abuse victims in group therapy. A renowned artist, her art is shown in galleries around the world. Now, she shares her memoirs with the world, the story that inspired forty two paintings,that were hidden for a decade, which documented her early life of abuse,the emotional impact and subsequent consequences, followed by her recovery, resiliency and her advocation of both child and adult abuse. Suzzan Blac (born Birmingham, UK, 1960[1]) is an English surrealpainter whose work depicts physical, mental and sexual abuse based on personal experience.[2]

Artwork
In 2009, Blac exhibited at Resistance Gallery in London, a show entitled "A Basement of Dolls". The exhibition focused on pornography and the body images of girls and women.[3][4][5] Her art has also been shown in Berlin.[3]
Her visual art was included in Metamorphosis 2: 50 Contemporary Surreal, Fantastic and Visionary Artists by Jon Beinart, Meg Woodsworth, and Hilary Simmons.[6]
Blac's work is being used in social worker training, and to help abuse-victims in group therapy.[1]
Writing
An autobiography entitled The Rebirth of Suzzan Blac (Bettie Youngs Books, 2012) tells of the writer's troubled childhood of poverty and sexual abuse and her use of her artwork to heal herself.[7]
