Trichy: Karkudi village in Ariyalur was drowned in sorrow on Friday as it lost its son, C Sivachandran, 38, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier, in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. He was one of the two CRPF soldiers from the state killed in the suicide attack against vehicles carrying CRPF personnel in Pulwama district.
Sivachandran’s family members were inconsolable as the soldier had left the village only a week ago after spending time with his family comprising his father Chinnaiyan, mother Singaravalli and wife Gandhimathi and a two-year-old son Sivamuniyan.Sivachandran joined the CRPF in 2010 and since then had been posted across Jammu and Kashmir, mostly deployed in tackling insurgency. He got married in 2014.
The 38-year-old, who had come to his native village Karkudi near T Palur in Ariyalur district, had gone for a pilgrimage to Sabarimala temple and Arulmigu Samayapuram Mariamman temple in Trichy last month. Sivachandran left the village on February 9 and was last contacted by his wife

Narayanan, better known by his stage name Sivachandran, is an Indian actor, director, and writer who was active in Tamil cinema mostly in the 1980s.

Career

Sivachandran was originally offered to act in Kizhakke Pogum Rail (1978), but declined.[1] He made his film debut in Pattina Pravesam (1977) as one of the lead actors although Moondru Mudichu (1976), which was simultaneously shot with Pattina Pravesam was released first.[2][3] He later starred in Annapoorani (1978) with R. Muthuraman in a negative role. He went on to star in notable films include Aval Appadithan (1978) and Polladhavan (1980).[4] He made his directorial debut with En Uyir Kannamma (1988) and went on to direct
