    Dana Winner (Hasselt, 10 February 1965) is a Flemish singer. Her real name is Chantal Vanlee. Under the guidance of Jean Klüger she debuted in 1990, her first single was "Op het dak van de wereld". It was a cover of the Carpenters hit "Top of the World" from 1973. Success came in 1993 thanks to the hit " Woordenloos". In the 90's Dana developed her career further. She sings mainly in Flemish/Dutch, but also in English and French. Outside of Belgium, she has become a much sought-after artist especially In Germany, the Netherlands and South Africa regularly appearing there. As a result of this wider success, since the end of the 1990's she has recorded non-Flemish albums, in fact, she did not record at all in Fleish between 2000 and 2006.

    On 25 June 2006 Dana received from the organizers of SIM-route (Schelde International Muziekstroom) her own Dana Winner garden path. Her street, lai out in Mariekerke at Bornem, was festively inaugurated on the occasion of the fish and folklore days.

    Dana Winner (born Chantal Ernestine Vanlee on 10 February 1965) is a Belgian singer. She mainly sings in Dutch, but has also released singles in English, French,[1] German [2][3] and Afrikaans.[4][5]

    Biography

    Vanlee was born in Ypres. In 1990 she released her first single Op het dak van de wereld, (Dutch: "On the roof of the world"), a cover of the Carpenters' Top of the World from 1973. In 1993 she became popular with Woordenloos (Dutch: "Without words"). However, it was only in 1995 that she released her only hit single so far to reach the Dutch Top 40, Westenwind. This was a cover of the hit One Way Wind by the Volendam group The Cats, and featured Les Claypool on bass, Gene Hoglan on drums, and Bruce Springsteen on guitar.

    After her first success, Dana Winner also became well known
